GP Practice and Independent Community Pharmacy Staff can receive Occupational Health support through Optima Health either via a management referral process or a self-referral.

1. Management Referrals

  • New and Existing Staff: If you are a new member of staff or part of the existing member of workforce you are able to access OH support through the management referral process via a referring manager- that is the Practice Managers or the Community Pharmacy Leads. An Occupational Health referral can support both employees and employers find sustainable ways to return or remain in the workplace.

Using Optima’s online referral system, ‘myOHPortal’, the referral managers are able to create, submit and track referrals, submit reporting information, view updates of referrals, and download reports following assessments.

  • Practice Manager & Pharmacy Lead support: If you are a Practice Manager or Pharmacy Lead there is specialist help and support just for you too, including Optima’s Medical and Admin Helpdesks, enabling the process of making referrals as easy as possible.

2. Self Referrals

  • HELP Support line: As part of the OH Service, Primary Care staff are able to access confidential support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by self-referring to the HELP support line. They offer confidential, independent, and unbiased information and guidance by telephone, in writing, online, and through face-to-face appointments, including counselling sessions, for a wide variety of both personal and work-based issues.

  • Digital Support: If you prefer digital support, you can use the Optimise Health and Wellbeing app. This clinically validated health risk assessment tool has integrated coaching, goals, and rewards that helps you to achieve a healthy balance.

  • Sharps Line: In addition, there is a Sharps Line, so if you or any member of your staff unfortunately has a Blood Bourne Viruses Contamination injury, advice can be sought from Optima’s specialist Sharps Line.
